Completed Systems

The system consists of a 1,500 gallon Poly-Mart Tank and collects rain watephotor from approximately 1,000 square foot composite shingle roof via three (3) downspouts.  The collected water is pumped from the tank via a 3/4 hp on-demand pump (not pictured) with a 60-micron filter to five (5) hose bibs positioned around the residence and an adjacent greenhouse. Filtration of rainwater is provided by Leaf Beater Rain Heads and a SafeRain first flush diverter. The system is used exclusively for irrigation, so no additional filtration or pre-treatment was installed or necessary. Because of the existing grade of this site, we were able to install drainage valves that release captured water out of the drainage pipes between rains, allowing for a gradual conversion to a ‘dry-pipe’ system.

This system consists of 400 gallons of combined storage. Due to the space limitations, using two (2) – 200 gallon Poly-Mart Tanks fit well into the surrounding landscape. The system utIMG_6691ilizes a Rain Harvesting Clean Rain Advanced Head allowing the homeowner to select between collecting rain or diverting it into an existing below ground drainage system. This selection feature is ideal during spring here in East Texas, allowing for diversion of water with copious amounts of pollen to be simply diverted and prevented from causing issues in the tank. With minimal disturbance of existing downspouts, the use of the Clean Rain Advanced makes for a clean installation.

The harvested water will be used to irrigate landscaping around the home, and reduce the consumption of municipal water.
