Welcome to our website

It is no secret that in recent years the majority of Texas, including East Texas, has suffered the effects of extreme drought conditions. Historically, annual rainfall in East Texas has sufficiently replenished natural water sources meeting domestic, industrial, agricultural and recreational needs. However, with the general increase in consumption and the dwindling availability of surface water resources, the conservation of limited and finite water resources is now paramount for environmental stewardship.

In 2014, Scorpion Springs was formed to provide the consumer with multiple solutions to counter the growing need of providing both potable and non-potable water while protecting and preserving natural resources. The cornerstone of Scorpion Springs is to utilize modern rainwater harvesting (RWH) methods and materials to provide these solutions for others, in turn reducing the burden on groundwater and surface water resources.

“An estimated 2 billion gallons of water could be generated annually in a large metropolitan area the size of Dallas if 10 percent of the roof area were used to harvest rainwater.”

“Approximately 38 billion gallons of water would be conserved annually if 10 percent of the roof area in Texas could be used for rainwater harvesting.”

Rainwater Harvesting Potential and Guidelines for Texas Report to the 80th (Texas) Legislature

RWH is an age-old practice reemerging in areas of Central and West Texas. Modern materials and engineering techniques have improved the quality of captured rainwater, as well as expanded the means and capacity of rainwater storage for both commercial and residential applications.

Scorpion Springs believes that conservation of water resources through rainwater harvesting can be employed across the State, not just in areas susceptible to drought conditions or that have limited water reserve.

water-drop-on-the-leafDid you know that water collected from RWH:

  • Provides a superior water source for irrigation purposes
  • Can be used for both potable and non-potable uses
  • Reduces the growing burden on natural resources
  • Saves the consumer money
  • Provides an alternative to municipal water sources during times of restricted water use
  • Reduces stormwater runoff

So are you ready to start harvesting the rain? Let the team at Scorpion Springs use their training and experience to develop a practical system for your specific needs, large or small. Scorpion Springs has team members located both in East Texas and North Central Texas.

Scorpion Springs is a member of the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA) and an Authorized Dealer for Pioneer Water Tank.
